Storrington in Bloom’s local competition for 2018 was launched at the Storrington Duck Race on Sunday 13th May where we held a plant tombola to raise more funds towards our village centre displays. Thank you to everyone that came to see us at the event.

Spring is upon us and summer is on its way, we’ve been looking around at all the wonderful front gardens and community areas in and around Storrington but are sure we’ve missed some worthy of a look. So please make sure you tell us about them! You can enter our competition yourself or nominate someone else’s that you admire (or envy!). Click here for the entry form.

With thanks to Chanctonbury Lions and the Rotary Club of Storrington and Pulborough we are hosting another scarecrow competition this year, with the theme ‘Wedding Party’. For the enjoyment of residents and visitors to Storrington we have asked St Mary’s Church for permission to have them all displayed in the Churchyard this year so do look out for the display, and of course, work with your family or a local group to create an entry! Click here for the entry form.

Entries for the scarecrow competition, front garden and community area categories are invited until Thursday 28th June. Entry forms can be submitted by email to storringtoninbloom@gmail.com or can be handed in at The Card Shop.

Let’s make this our best year yet!

Competition poster (res)

Our 2016 campaign is up and running. The main competition entry is in the Town Centre category of the Britain in Bloom Competition. Last year Storrington was awarded a SILVER GILT and this year’s aim is to repeat or better that. Judging will be on 7th July and with the help of our sponsors, volunteers, residents and businesses this can be achieved.

As well as the main entry, there are a number of local competitions to be judged in July and August. The theme this year is “Bright and beautiful”. Categories include a children’s wheelbarrow competition, best allotment, best business window and best business external area. Allotments and business categories do not require entry forms all will be judged automatically.

Entry forms for the residential categories: best front garden and  best community area can be collected from Joanna’s Boutique Tearoom, High Street or from The Village Florist, West Street or download it using this link Annual Competition 2016. Come on all you budding gardeners – now is the time to show off! Don’t forget you can also nominate one of your neighbours.

Here’s to a lovely warm summer with plenty of flowers, fun and laughter for everyone.

With thanks to our sponsors

And a BIG thanks to all our volunteers and local businesses without whom none of this would be possible.
